Sweeney T Costume Comparison

Description

WOW sorry for the shit quality. I do not know where my good camera went :P

I drew lines where the sewing lines are (where the two pieces of material were sewn together) to give some idea of the pattern differences between the vest and the barber coat. The dotted line on the barber coat is not an actual sewing line, i just put it there because the actual sewing line was curved, so the dotted line is there just to show how the actual line should be sewed, in order to avoid confusion ;)
This was done for a friend on here (who will hopefully find this)
I will upload 2 versions of this because i have one that is better quality but the lines arent as good :( ahh my life...gotta love it.

so since you cant read what i wrote underneath i will put it here
Hopefully you can see the 1A, 1b, 2a,2b things.

1A. points to the lapels on Sweeneys brown vest, it shows that the lapels are squared off
1b. shows the lapels on Sweeneys barber coat, these are not squared off, but they taper to a point.

2a. This shows the horizontal line going across Sweeney's vest, around midway, only on the left side of his vest (right side when you are wearing it)
2b. shows the vertical line on the gray barber coat that is coming from that horizontal line. The vertical line is lined up with the edge of the other side of the coat (where the buttons are and the button holes join up) and is not on the brown linen vest. Note that the gray barber coat also has the same horizontal line.

These were two main pattern differences I noticed with the coat and vest.
Both seem to be made out of a linen material that is distressed, both have raglan seams in the back and have the back ties. Both are longer in the front than in the back
you can see the proper length difference here and here you see that they are (i'im guessing) around maybe 1inch or so different. So the back of each thing is shorter in the back by one inch. The gray barber coat is a bit longer than the vest too and the neckline on it is lower than on the vest, which can clearly be seen here.
Both the vest and coat dont seem to be lined, they are just made from one layer of linen.

Hope this helps anyone else cosplaying Sweeney. I will work on getting a better more clear pic up.

I will be posting up close embroidery detail for his shirt soon as well, since that seems to be a detail that a lot of cosplayers either dont see or dont have a good enough reference pic to do it properly (so they usually just dont do it) :D

Wow thank you so much for uploading it. It helps a lot I think. Some of the details I have already noticed and I remember how I tried to show and explain them my sewing teacher and my grandma as well. It was hopeless though. They both didn't understand what I mean and how the vest and the barber coat lookes like. But now, that you have uploaded and explained it and my sewing skills have improved there came some great ideas to my mind how I could do at least some of the details.
Uuh if only I could start with redoing the barber coat now! (I'll probably have to wait up to next year until I'll have the opportunity to do this)
By the way I just found a pic of Sweeney in which he stares at the chopper in his hand from "A little Priest" It's a high quality pic in which you can see some of the patterns of the barber coat's sleeve very well. Do you have this pic or would you need it?
